What if I want to be a Fashion Designer and a Makeup Artist?
Should I do to makeup school daytime, and then fashion school at night? I don’t know =/
Hi, I really do not recommend that you take fashion design along with other classes or too many hours at work because I’ve done fashion design, and fashion design includes sewing among other things.
Sewing takes up a tremendous amount of time because you tend to make mistakes if you are not a pro. When you make a mistake, it takes 3 to 4 times the time to undo the mistake than to actually sew it correctly the first time around or to make the mistake. I hope you understand what I’m saying.
Also, I only recommend that you become a fashion designer if you truly TRULY have a passion for it. Because it is A LOT of work. and most people who graduate with a fashion design degree either end up working retail or something totally different. It is rare that you get paid working as a fashion designer or an assistant degree once you graduate(you have to know someone who knows someone already in the industry). The fashion industry does not pay really well unless you’re one of the top people in the industry (a small percentage).
I do not know how studying or becoming a make up artist is like.
But I am speaking from experience. I have worked under fashion designers, assistant designers, sales representatives, and technical designers.
