Will Apple pay for this repair?
So I’m sitting in my art class right now, on my Macbook Pro aluminum. I was using it about 10 minutes ago, and put it down in it’s bag. Just minutes ago when I put it back on my desk, I noticed a scratch (crack) on the top of the casing near the glowing apple. Like, it’s a crack right in between the part of the apple that’s been ‘bitten off’. I have no clue what could’ve happened. Also, I’ve always noticed that around the power on/off button on the top right corner of the base, the aluminum is dented and raised up. This isn’t anything that I’ve done (at least for SURE with the power button thing). Could I have purchased a Macbook with weak aluminum? I’m going to go to the Mac store soon to see if they’ll fix it for free. I have the Applecare plan. What do you think they’ll do? Thanks guys.
No, cosmetic damage is not covered under warranty, even with Applecare. It is for hardware failures only. I know this for a fact since I used to work for them in sales.
Consider it a battle scar and move on.
