I want to start painting, advice?

I’m not really an artist, and I can’t really draw
Before I buy an acrylic set and a few canvases
I wanna know if I should start drawing first?
I kinda like the abstract stuff, should I learn how to draw first?
Or, is it cool if I go straight to canvas?
Or, should I take a class? haha
