What are some good 50′s rock ‘n’ roll albums by popular artists?
I think 50′s rock ‘n’ roll was somewhat single driven, so I don’t have many albums by those artists, just individual songs. Well, other than Elvis Presley’s self-titled debut…
Also, 60′s albums are okay as long as they’re from artists that started from the 50′s.
Chuck Berry Is on Top by Chuck Berry, one of the most influential albums of all-time, contains classics like Maybellene, You Can’t Catch Me, Johnny B. Goode and Roll Over Beethoven.
Here’s Little Richard by Little Richard, also one of the greatest and most influential albums of all-time, contains classics like Tutti Frutti, Long Tall Sally and Rip It Up.
The “Chirping” Crickets by The Crickets (led by Buddy Holly), phenomenal album, contains classics like Oh, Boy!, That’ll Be the Day and Not Fade Away.
And you already know Elvis’ self-titled debut, also check out the album “Sunrise” which contains his entire studio recordings at Sun Studio, in my opinion, it’s unquestionably the greatest and the most influential album ever made, the songs on that album literally started music, the album is a must-have for every music fan, let alone every rock & roll fan.
